Public Art - Napa Valley

When I travel, I love to see what art a community has decided to embrace.  The unexpected sculpture, mural or mosaics are a nice splash of color and adds interest into the landscape.

In 2020 the PBID Membership and the City of Napa launched a public art work beautification project. Using local artist's work to adorn the drab grey of thirteen electrical switch boxes with images of Napa Valley life.  I am so grateful to have my artwork chosen for this project.

Covid-19 pushed the project int0 2021. The box is in the works, with two sides completed. The location for the electrical box wrapped with my artwork is located in Downtown Napa, at  2nd Street and Coombs. It is in front of a parking garage and across from the courthouse. Grab a cup of coffee from Molinari Caffe or a pita from Small World, and stroll by.

The two painting wrapped on the electrical box are "The Fractured Trail" and "Butterflies are Free". I love embracing color and both of these pieces were inspired by hiking in the Napa Valley with my dog Auggie by my side. Color makes me happy!

There is a fabulous Ted Talk by Ingrid Lee about finding joy and the wonderful connection that joy has with color, listen in here.

Stay tuned, for better photos when the other two sides of the panel are completed. If you are visiting Napa, reach out and we can grab coffee at my electrical box!
